Shawdesh Desk: Members of police recovered the floating body of a boatman near Bhetkhali Coast Guard Office at Madar River of Shyamnagar upazila in Satkhira on Monday night.

The deceased was identified as Nabab Ali Gazi, 65, was a boatman of Forest Department, son of late Abdul Majid Gazi, hailing from Purbo Kaikhali village of the upazila.

Nazmul Huda, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shyamnagar Police Station, said getting information by Abdul Hamid Laltu, member of local union parishad along with police rushed to the spot and retrieved the floating body of Nabab from the river at 11:30 pm adjacent to Kaikhali village.
The body, however, bears no injury marks but the real cause of the death will be known after getting the autopsy report, the OC said.
